Victorian Cats Eye Bug Brooch – SOLD

This cute Victorian beetle brooch has a Chrysoberyl Cats Eye stone set into the body with Seed Pearls set as eyes and in the beetles antennae.  The legs are textured to give the appearance of hairs, incredibly detailed.  All set in Silver with a typical Victorian hinge and ‘c’ clasp. The brooch has no hallmarks which is typical of victorian jewellery.

The Victorians were very keen on insect jewellery,  you will often find brooches in an array of different insects, scarabs, spiders, flies, beetles, dragonflies etc.

Size:  1 1/4″ long x 5/8″ wide
