Vintage Neiger Czech 1920s Egyptian Revival Beads

This beautiful Neiger Czech 1920s Egyptian Revival beaded necklace is stunning in bright orange and turquoise. The necklace has been re hand knotted in the original pattern, so it is now safe to wear . There are various shaped beads including scarab beads and a centre Egyptian Head with the original gold paint that gives the definition to the face and hair.   The centre panel  has some crazing to the back of the glass, which is not an uncommon characteristic.  This is a very long necklace so fits easily over the head and comes down to about waist level.

Those of you who collect 1920s jewellery will appreciate the Egyptian Revival design and the presence of the scarab beads.  I have collected these style of beaded necklaces for many years but haven’t come across many in this colour combination.  The thread was inevitably found in a distressed state of repair but I have had this professionally hand knotted.

Egyptian Revival is one of my long time favourite designs, Czechoslovakia  were very prolific manufacturers, with many ranges and styles of jewellery producing necklaces, brooches, earrings and bracelets.  Their designs and quality of manufacturing have made their jewellery very collected and sort after.

Size:   Total length of beads = 35″  When worn = 17 1/2″ length   plus  Drop 3 3/4″   Main panel 1 1/4″ x 1 1/8″
