Bakelite Mahjong Bracelet – SOLD

Amber and green Bakelite Mahjong tile, elasticated to form a bracelet, from the 1930s – 1950s, probably American. Each tile has a different number and pattern engraved on it.  The early mahjong sets were made in Bakelite, this changed many years ago to plastic as we now know it.

The stretch elastic has been renewed to ensure wearability. In between each tile are a number of celluloid coloured discs.

The un stretched size is 7″ diameter, it will stretch to fit over any hand size.

Each tiles measures: 1 1/8th” x 7/8th”
