Jakob Bengel 1930s Necklace – SOLD
Jakob Bengel 1930s Necklace – SOLD
Jakob Bengel 1930s lovely french navy blue cold painted enamel and galalith panelled necklace. Bengel was famous for his chain linking designs and this is a very unusual beauty. It has a pyramid shaped galalith panel at the front, with 6 other interlinked panels of galalith in the chain, I’ve not come across this design before. It also has blue enamel panelled brickwork to the front. There are 2 Jakob Bengel books published with many pictures, but nothing quite like this one.
On the reverse side of the front panel there is a little wear to the silver , this has obviously worn off from rubbing against the skin. This doesn’t detract from the piece in any way.
I have recently bought a collection from a collector of Jakob Bengel but this hasn’t been worn in the 50 years that she has had it.
Bengel pieces aren’t signed, sometimes they may have a mark on the clasp ring which reads – Guaranteed or Gesch but that is as much as I’ve ever seen. I believe they did have swing tags, hence they were removed before wearing.
Size: 18″ end to end – difficult to measure because of the shape with the ‘v’ but is a good length. The whole of the pendant from the point to where the neck chain starts is an additional 2″.
Could be lengthened with additional chain/links.
