Louis Rousselet Blue Necklace

A Louis Rousselet beautiful 1930s blue glass bead necklace with silver (possibly sterling silver) pretty bead caps and spacers.  Louis Rousselet was famous for his lovely quality beads and pearls.  The beads usually have a graded colour and are not just one solid colour, this makes them so much more desirable and interesting.

You will also see that this necklace has the original LR screw barrel clasp. Some of the clasps will have ‘Made in France’ on the side end of the clasp.  A lot of his jewellery had swing tags and therefore very few are signed.

With many of his glass beaded necklaces you will find that they have survived the test of time due to the fact that they were strung on a fine but strong chain.  Because of this, he then created lots of different spacer beads – glass donuts beads and metal beads. These were placed between the beads to form interesting patterns and to separate the beads so they were shown to their full potential.
